Visual Merchandising
Visual Merchandising plays a critical part in maximizing your sales. It is the act of displaying your merchandise while enticing your costumer to purchase the items featured. Visual merchandisers have to constantly change their displays and change up the theme and concept. You have to be very creative and come up with new concepts that will reflect the style of the clothing of your retail environment. It takes months to prepare for a window display. Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores to go into, they constantly change their displays by using overlooked materials such as clothes hangers, cork screws, buttons, and other items that we use in every day life. The article featured in popsugar.com glorifies the creative coordinators that come up with constantly changing window displays that draws so much attention to the store. They always have exciting window displays that amaze consumers and entice new costumers to step inside into this artsy and creative environment. They truly are creative and master the definition of do it yourself. They incorporate various recyclable products into their displays which saves them so much money while effectively drawing a crowd to admire the clothing being featured through the creative window displays and ultimately to shop inside their store.

Zeitgeist
Trend Forecasters are responsible for researching and ultimately forecasting the new fashion trend and offer in depth reports on what people will be wearing in the future. They must evaluate economic, political, social, technology that is being used at the time, and they must consider the environment for example biodegradable clothing. The trickle down theory explains that the movement of fashion starts at the top of socioeconomic status of consumers and then it gets accepted down to the general public, which i beg to differ. This theory is the oldest and socially accepted theory but in this generation, consumers are creating fashion trends that trend forecasters are figuring out for example the psychedelic generation is making a come back. This year 2015 is the rise and comeback of the 70's. Social media such as instagram, facebook, pinterest etc are essential tools for fashion. People go to the internet to research what is trending, what people are interested in, what colors they are wearing, what is in during the current season. Pantone has chosen Marsala to be the color of 2015, through months of preparation the color was ultimately chosen to be the color of the year. It is already featured in so many types of clothing and designers have already started incorporating into their collections. It took months of research to choose Marsala as the color of the year.

Corduroy Is Making A Comeback
"The Case for Corduroy: The Seventies Favorite Is Poised for a Serious Comeback"
The Seventies are back, and they are bringing Courduroy back according to an article published by VOGUE this week. We keep seeing more and more relics of the fashion past being reborn in high fashion. From the classic boho dresses, to sheer blouses, but the comeback for 2015 is Corduroy and im ecstatic. The smooth yet still look of The Corduroy is a fabric that I often enjoy, before I found out that it was the "it" thing this year. They can give you a professional, and warm appearence, and they feel great.

Pantone Colors for Spring 2015
This season there is a move toward the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum. An eclectic, ethereal mix of understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals take center stage as designers draw from daydreams of simpler times. Remembrances of retro delights, folkloric and floral art, and the magical worlds of tropical landscapes restore a sense of well-being as we head into warmer months.
